When a horse's racing career is over, it normally has more than half of its life still in front of it. That's why Square Deal is firmly committed to retraining those horses who don't join our breeding program (or someone else's) for a new career. Thoroughbreds are excellent competitors in all equine sports and are often equally at home in the backyard as pleasure horses. We evaluate all of our retirees for the discipline to which they would be best suited before their training begins. Our horses have become show jumpers, dressage competitors and trail horses. |
